SmartRAD® by WeatherData, Inc., an AccuWeather Company, is a weather information and monitoring system which delivers the best available weather information in real time. Data is compiled from sources such as the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), National Weather Service (NWS) and the National Lightning Detection Network. With an intuitive, graphical interface, clients can quickly see the big picture—not just raw data—and a view that is specific to their organization. In one simple screen, clients can quickly comprehend the current weather at each facility, rail or highway mile that is pertinent to their business operations and supply chain.
Clients can also receive SkyGuard® site-specific warnings that are issued by WeatherData meteorologists and be notified of severe weather events according to specific critical thresholds such as temperature, precipitation, winds or lightning strikes. These warnings are customized to their site’s specific needs.
SmartRAD is our exclusive, patented monitoring system that provides your complete weather solution by displaying high-resolution radar and maps and plotting National Weather Service Warnings so you can easily view exactly what is happening at all of your sites.
When using SmartRAD with your SkyGuard service, our custom warnings are sent directly through SmartRAD. The warning immediately pops up on the screen with an accompanying audible alarm to alert your staff to an impending weather threat. If your staff does not click the acknowledge button on the warning, our meteorologists will call your site or emergency staff.
